MICROBLADING

Microblading FAQ

WHAT IS MICROBLADING?

  • Microblading is the HOTTEST and most CUTTING EDGE brow trend to cross over to America from Malaysia! Microblading (aka Eyebrod Embroidery, 3D Brows, 6D Brows, hairstroke brows) is a permanent makeup technique done with a manual pen that penetrates the top layer of skin with pigment. This offers a realistic and dimensional, natural brow consisting of fine hair like strokes instead of a “block of color”.

COULD MICROBLADING BE A SOLUTION FOR ME?

  • Whether you are missing entire sections of your brow, have no brow or have fairly full brows, Microblading IS for YOU! With this amazing technique we can create a full brow where there was none or embellish certain areas that need definition. We can create fullness and depth to an existing brow. NO MORE DRAWING IN BROWS DAILY!

Permanent makeup is NOT recommended for any clients who are or have:

  • Pregnant or nursing Skin irritations or Psoriasis near the

  • Diabetic treated area (rashes, sunburn, acne…)

  • Undergoing Chemotherapy Sick (cold, flu, etc.)

  • Viral infections and/or diseases Had Botox in the past 2 weeks.

  • Epilepsy Used Retinoids (such as Retin-A and

  • A Pacemaker or major heart Accutane) in the past year

  • Problems

  • Had an Organ transplant Prone to Keloids

  • Undergoing hormone therapies

OILY SKIN?

  • Those clients who have extremely oily skin may experience a different result with microblading than those with normal to dry skin. This could equate to more fading of color faster and possibly the strokes will not heal as crisp (may be slightly blurred or dotted). Those with oily skin may need more frequent touch ups at the 9-12 mont mark or should consider a different technique such as a “shaded” brow rather than microblading.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

  • The pigment lasts different amounts of time on different people for a myriad of reasons. In general, after the first 4-6 week touch-up, it could last anywhere from 18 months to 3 years before fading completely.

DOES IT HURT?

  • We use topical anesthetic to numb the skin before and during the procedure. Many clients find it relaxing.

IS THERE ANY DOWN TIME?

  • No. Clients are able to leave the treatment and go directly back to work or to daily tasks/errands. There will be very little redness. The brows are then healing aggressively over the next 10 days while you are using a thin layer of an ointment such as petroleum jelly to keep the brows protected.

Before Care

  • Do not work out the day of the procedure.

  • Do not tan or have sunburned face.

  • Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or IBUprofen 24 hours before procedure.

  • No alcohol or caffeine on the day of the procedure.

  • No waxing or tinting 3 days prior.

  • Please note that you will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.

After Care

  • Keep the area clean the first 24 hours by washing over them with freshly washed hands and a mild sop. Do not use a washcloth or sponge to remove soap. Simply splash with water.

  • Apply a thin, breathable layer of ointment (Aquaphor or petroleum jelly) 2x a day. If you have oily skin, use ointments sparingly.

  • Do not use makeup, cleansing creams, acne cleansers or astringents, or any other products on treated area for 10 days.

  • Generally, avoid water ON your brows for 10 days (wash around them).

  • Avoid sleeping on your face or digging the side of your face into a pillow for the first 10 days.

  • Do not scrub, rub or pick at the epithelial crust that forms. Allow skin to naturally flake off by itself. Protect your investment! Keep your hands off your brows.

  • No heavy sweating for 10 days (keep sweat off brows).

  • Swelling, itching, flaking and dry tightness are normal. You cannot scratch.

  • Too dark and slightly uneven appearance can be normal. After 7-10 days, the darkness will fade and once swelling dissipates, unevenness usually disappears. If they are too dark or still a bit uneven after 4-6 weeks, then we will make adjustments during the touch up appointment.

  • Color change or color loss. As the procedure area heals, the color will lighten and sometimes seen to disappear. This can all be addressed during the touch up appointment.

  • Always use SPF after the procedure area is healed to protect from sun fading. Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 3-4 weeks after procedure.

  • Always avoid any procedure or product over your brow tattoo that serves to exfoliate layers of the since (such as peels, microdermabrasion, etc).
